Product Description
The EA1504-series is an extremely versatile and reliable series of packer feedthrus, suitable for both mud-line packer installations and deep-set packer installations. This series offers extraordinary flexibility. The feedthru may be installed either above or below the packer. A wide range of cross-over adapters solutions is available, which threading as small as 1.90NU Box or Pin-threads.
This series of cross-over adapter has a minimum diameter of 1.95-inches, and is available made from alloy steel, 410 stainless steel or Monel 400. Cable choices include round cables, flat cables and motor lead extension cables. When supplied with an integrally molded MLE, these systems can be installed without a splice below the packer.
For installations with dual ESPs, this product may be installed using a Y-Adapter, allowing two packer feedthrus to be installed on one packer.
FAQs
While it is always desirable to have straight through-bores in the packer, this is often difficult. Provided that the angles are not extreme, and there is sufficient room to install a cross-over adapter, it will be possible to push cables through the packer bore, even when it is not straight.
No. We try to match the cable coming out of the feedthru to the cable actually being used. For mudline packers, it is common to have non-lead-sheated cable above and below the packer. For deep-set packers, the lower cable is almost always lead-sheathed.
In most cases, no, because it is not possible to pass the MLE pothead connector through the packer from above. The only way that the proposed installation would work is, if the drift diameter through the packer is sufficient to allow the feedthru (and upper cable) to be passed through the packer from below. A special cross-over adapter would need to be supplied which allows the feedthru to be secured above the packer and the cross-over adapter.
