Instrumentation Penetrator System

Product Description

The BIW Connector Systems Feedthru for Metal-Clad Instrument Cables provides a secure pressure barrier for single conductor instrument cables, as well as positive protection in the event of a cable failure downhole. This robust, pressure-blocking connector is intended for easy installation on top of the tubing hanger or flange, or even on the exterior of the wellhead bowl. This configuration allows the tubing hanger to be landed without delay. The standard design withstands pressures up to 5,000 psi. Special configurations are available to 10,000 psi.

FAQs

Can this product be used with metal clad cable made of Inconel?

Yes.  However, the engagement instruction for the metal-to-metal sealing changes to reflect the additional hardness of Inconel.

Is this product approved for use in Hazardous Locations?

Yes, this product is approved for Hazardous Locations under ATEX.

We often have trouble with metal-to-metal sealing ferrules with I-Wire Cable because the cable has become deformed during the installation process. How can we solve this?

For metal-to-metal ferrules to be easily installed, it is often necessary that the metal clad cable must be straightened and the roundness must be restored. BIW Connector Systems offers special tools for this purpose.
